Maidstone, despite a lively opening 15 minutes, were 5-0 down at half time with the home team managing to get the ball from defending their circle to opposite end in simple counter-attacking hockey.
A better second half but always on the back foot. A short corner struck firmly by Andy Parkes, reduced the deficit but Sittingbourne continued to move the ball around quickly and without several fine saves by MOM Mark Smith in goal the scoreline could have been worse.
