Despite a below par performance, Maidstone came back from a goal down to win 2-1 away at Tunbridge Wells.
The first half was goalless with both sides not converting chances. T Wells scored immediately at the start of the second half and it could have been more soon afterward if ‘keeper Steve Grout had not been on good form. Gradually Maidstone started to maintain possession and with “Man of Match” Paul Holkham penetrating on the right of midfield some dominance was gained. James Thrower bundled the ball over the line following a melee in the circle, and shortly afterwards Mark Bourne swept home from short corner move. More fine saves towards the end from Maidstone’s ‘keeper ensured victory.
