Maidstone go into this game undefeated in 4.
The Ashford team is sitting on top of the league and going well. Maidstones rich form continued though, with 4 goals in the first 5 minutes(2 for Ash Messenger and 2 for Mark Bromley)due to the interceptions and flowing passing from midfield and attacking players.
Ashford rallied after this and midway through the first half earned a short corner which they put tightly into the bottom corner. A few minutes later they manage another excellent strike from the short to make it 4-2.
Just before half time Ashford are on the attack again and a clumsy tackle saw Stu Brown given a green card. Ashford send the free hit across the top of the D and fire the ball towards goal, a deflection sends it into the goal but after some discussion between the Maidstone defender and the umpires the Ashford attacking player who was thought to have flicked the ball says he didn't get a touch, in keeping with the fair way the whole game was played with players on both sides owning up to fouls, goal disallowed and a long corner given. The half ended 4-2 to Maidstone.
The second half started with Maidstone pressuring Ashford and scoring in the 2nd minute. The relentless pressure from Maidstone told greatly from then on and with another goal for Mark Bromley for his hatrick and 4 more for Ash Messenger taking his total to 6, 2 goals each for Edward B and Barry Coffey saw Maidstone end the game 13-4 Winners.
Another outstanding team performance.
