The Ladies 4s were delighted to achieve their first win of the season with a solid team performance and four goals from four different players. Captain Nicky Bourne put them ahead with a clean penalty corner strike, but Faversham soon equalised. Bourne then picked out Tracy Murphy-Bellchambers on the goalpost who swiftly put Maidstone back ahead. However, Faversham capitalised on a penalty corner to equalise again, but Maidstone still bounced back. Some well-linked forward play resulted in Louisa Coffey scoring her first of the season and Maidstone 3-2 up at half time. The second half saw numerous chances for Maidstone and, having again fielded a maximum squad of 16, they used this to ensure legs were fresher than the tiring opposition. Eventually their determination was rewarded when Teresa Griffiths found herself with the ball at the left post and slotted it passed the keeper for the winner.
Player of the match was awarded jointly the young defenders Claudia Allsworh-Clarke and newcomer Holly Sherwood who is gaining in confidence and was tenacious throughout the game.
