The sun came out briefly and Maidstone Ladies 4ths found their winning way again at last. Some confident attacking, lead to numerous chances but Maidstone just couldn’t finish. Eventually they broke through and a cross from the right wing found Nicky Bourne who slipped it square to meet the committed Belinda Weinrich diving for the touch that turned it goal bound. Maidstone continued to pile on pressure in the second half. Youngsters Hebe Bowley and Gabby O’Reilly linked effectively on the right wing to keep providing the forwards with chances. Maidstone’s second goal came when a last second tactical call from Claire Hogan, changed the routine and Hogan slipped the ball back to the injector Kay Bowley to sweep in, confusing the defenders and wrong-footing the keeper.
