Ladies 4s Overcome Remnants

Maidstone Ladies 4ths were away to Remnants. They dominated the first half which saw repeated goal mouth flurries of action. Emma White started the scoring, tidying up a rebound from the keeper. The second came from a short corner when Claire Hogan made sure Nicky Bourne’s goal bound strike really did turn in. Captain Kay Bowley also tidied up a rebound to make it 3-0 at half time.
 
Maidstone were caught snoozing after half time and paid the price when Remnants made a couple of quick and sneaky breaks to pull the score back to 3-2. The away team pulled their socks up and found their first half form, relentlessly pressurising the Remnants keeper who held firm until the last five minutes when Nicky Bourne finally connected cleanly to blast her short corner strike into the back board to make it 4-2. 

Michelle Garrett, playing midfield for the first time, made some outstanding contributions to the Maidstone attacks and shared man of the match with Claire Hogan.
