The Ladies 4s were depleted of their usual defence when they travelled away for a friendly against K Sports. Well-deserved Player of the Match Claudia Allsworth-Clarke was phenomenal out of her comfort zone, relocated in central defence. Goalkeeper Niamh O’Reilly saved a penalty flick and Louisa Coffey and Tracey Murphy-Bellchambers put in solid performances out of their usual attacking positions to help Maidstone keep a clean sheet for three-quarters of the game. Unfortunately, Maidstone tired in the last quarter and let their heads drop when K Sports scored. With confusion at substitutions they left players unmarked and K Sports capitalised with three further quick goals before the final whistle.
