Maidstone ladies went out strong from the start and following lots of shots on goal that were frustratingly saved by the opposition keeper, Katie Walsh successfully scored the first goal from a keeper deflection. Despite Anchorians levelling the match at 1-1 before half time, Maidstone continued to work hard in the second half and from some great play created several short corner opportunities. Madeleine Jarvis perfectly struck a ball from the top of the D following a great injection by Ella Collie, hitting the backboard to get the much needed second goal and put Maidstone back in the lead. Tensions were running high for both teams but Maidstone took the game to Anchorians and were rewarded with a third goal from great positioning in the D by Ellie Doherty, who slipped it to Ella Collie on the post for a tap in past the keeper. Anchorians continued to battle and were rewarded in turn with a second goal. Overall, it was a well battled game by Maidstone who worked hard as a team to get the win but special recognition is to be given to Olivia Reeves as player of the match for her continued determination and energy.
