AWAY Ladies 3rd XI vs Folkestone 3rd XI

This game was full of intensity from the start with both teams taking shots on goal. There were short corner opportunities for both teams and some very strong goal keeping at both ends. Maidstone were first to score from a short corner with a successful deflection picked up by Sarah Day, which whistled past the opposition goal keeper. Folkestone had a quick break in play and from a lucky touch managed to convert a goal to take the match to 1-1. Folkestone were awarded a penalty stroke when the ball hit a Maidstone defender on the line. The anticipation by Folkestone of converting this into a win was thwarted brilliantly by a save from Jo Hernon who unsurprisingly went on to be nominated Player of the Match.
