Maidstone travelled to Herne Bay determined to get a win and started off strong, apply pressure from the beginning. After just 8 minutes Maidstone secured a 1-0 lead thanks to a goal from Nikki. We continued to drive forwards ensuring most of the play was in our attacking 25. The forward line of Hannah, Robyn, Julie and Liv created numerous chances but just could not break down the Herne Bay defence.

The second half continued in the same way with the defence of Kate Smithy, Lu, Bella, Jaime and Caroline, all in turn making good interceptions and feeding the ball up the lines onto Nikki, Katie and Ellie to create chances. We were awarded a number of short corners for our forwards to try to convert. Alas the goalie was too good and saved all of those chances and when Herne Bay got a break they took it and were dangerous. A short corner for Herne Bay saw them level and a break in the last 3 minutes secured them the win. Maidstone by far had the majority of the play, but were extremely unlucky with the final score of 2-1 to Herne Bay. POM Bella with some great defensive and attacking play all in one.
