Maidstone still searching for their first win of the season got off to a strong start pressing high up the pitch to dominate play and with only a few minutes gone Katie played a good ball into Hannah on the right to run into the D and rather than shoot played a deceptive pass to Julie to score.
Maidstone were the dominant team for most of the half, the back line of Caroline, Smithy, Lu and Bella were reliable when needed and Vicky in goal made a couple of good saves but the midfield line of Jaime, Katie, Ellie and Nikki were relentless in pressing on Folkestone’s possession to either force the error or win the ball allowing Hannah and Robyn to have some great attempts at goal but were thwarted by some excellent saves. Unfortunately against the run of play Folkestone scored an equaliser before half time.
The second half again saw Maidstone being the dominant team moving the ball well when in possession and pressing as team without. Chances were being created but unfortunately the Folkestone keeper was their best player making several great saves and again against the run of play Folkestone managed to sneak another goal. Final score 2-1 loss but a great team performance making the result a little frustrating.
