So after 3 draws from the first 3 league games Maidstone really wanted to get a win on the board this week. Things however didn’t start off going to plan and Maidstone were struggling to find any kind of rhythm and Anchorians took full advantage and deservedly on the balance of play they took a 2-0 lead into halftime.
Maidstone were not firing on all cylinders so at half time a tactical change was deployed, Liv was tasked with stopping the Anchorians play maker to allow Katie and Hannah the freedom to push higher up the pitch, this had the desired effect to make the whole team flow much better and start producing some far more positive attacking play.
Midway through the second half Maidstone were rewarded when from a short corner Hannah showed some sublime trickery to fool several defenders and hit a screamer of a shot which Robyn may or may not have touched over the line!!
Maidstone continued to push forward trying to find an equaliser which eventually came when Jaime played the ball to Julie on the right wing to drive down the line and hit a strong cross into the d for Robyn to touch into Nikki’s path to smash a great shot into the goal.
Final score 2-2
