3s v New Beccs
So the last game of the season and the 3s were determined to continue their good form of being unbeaten for the last 8 matches and finish with a win and went all out attack with smithy playing as an extra forward.
Maidstone had all the possession from the start and the midfield of Katie, Jaime, Nikki and Hannah S were playing some good through balls to create plenty of scoring chances for the forward line of Smithy, Hannah and Robyn. The well deserved breakthrough finally came when smithy opened her account. The goal certainly made the team wake up a little more especially Jaime who burst into life driving supremely down the right wing to the back line to pull the ball accurately back for Julie to tap in the second. Jaime then decided to assist Hannah by passing her the ball at the top of the D and Hannah hit a great shot inside the right post to make it 3-0 and before the half was over an on fire Jaime tore down the right wing again to set up Julie for her second and Maidstone’s 4th.
By the time the second half started the defensive line of Caroline, Lu, Liv and Thea were getting a little bored and all pushed higher up the pitch to get more involved and linked well with the midfield, chances came and went with Robyn narrowly missing out on adding to the tally and Hannah going close before smithy added the fifth and the game ended with player of the match Smithy getting her hat trick by converting a great cross from Robyn. A good final 6-0 victory which I think goalkeeper Vicky thoroughly enjoyed watching ? Match report written by Julie Davies
