So after 2 solid performances in the friendly games the 3's were feeling positive going into the first league game of the season, although its always a tough one against Folkestone.
The first half was an evenly contested battle with both teams creating shooting opportunities but both keepers were making good saves.
the breakthrough for the 3's came early in the second half when Jaime played a superb through ball to Bethan to showcase her close control into the D to set Hannah up for the finishing shot, on the right post.
Folkestone fought straight back, putting more and more pressure on a tiring 3's team that had worked hard in the hot weather. Folkestone score 2 quick goals to take the lead. As Maidstone pushed hard to find an equaliser, the goalie was just too good, Folkestone, then scored a 3rd to seal the win in the final minutes of the game.
A tough opener but lots of positives to take from the game, well played everyone. Match report courtesy of Julie Davies who received a nasty blow to the leg through her swift running out on a short corner and is now sporting a massive bruise. take care all for next week.
