Late Home Fixture

Ladies 3's were keen to get back to winning ways after last week's disappointing result and within the first 5 minutes Smithy promptly found the back of the net from a short corner. Unfortunately, it didn't stand as the shot was lifted.
However, Maidstone continued to apply attacking pressure with Nikki driving down the left wing, Jaime on the right and Hannah central. All three were providing great balls into the forward line and we soon took the lead when Ellie pit in a great ball to Katie to slot the ball home on the right post.
Maidstone had some defending to do but with Vicky in goal and a back line of Caroline, Smithy, Lucinda and Freya they were all confident in stopping any threat and start driving us forwards again. The forwards had more chances with Julie firing a couple of shots just wide of either post but we eventually doubled our lead before halftime when Nikki superbly followed up on the left post from Smithys short corner strike.
We started the 2nd half in the same attacking style and Bea playing out of position up front was making great runs, one of which resulted in a great effort on goal winning us a short corner. Julie put us 3-0 up with a cracking straight strike (anything u can do Smithy!)
brombeck did manage to pull a goal back but Maidstone soon re-gained the 3 goal advantage when Jaime drilled a great ball into the D and Julie with her back to the goal scored a cheeky 4th goal.
The result was then sealed when player of the match, Nikki, scored a brilliant 5 goal. A superb all round team display.
