Maidstone 3s vs Herne Bay 3s

Ladies 3s vs Herne Bay after a few disappointing results the 3s were keen to make amends with a nice early home start, that keen in fact that everyone was sweeping the frost off the pitch to ensure the game could go ahead.
The sweeping certainly wasn't wasted and Maidstone got off to a flying start and were unlucky not to lead after 2 minutes when Nikki made a superb driving run down the left and her thunderous cross was only just out of reach of Ellie charging into the D. Maidstone soon made the dominant attacking play count when Hannah's effort at goal was turned in a the right post by the ever improving Bea. Before the first 10 minutes were up Maidstone scored a second from a short corner with Hannah showing us her stick skills to jink the ball round the defence and score.
More chances came and went and Bethan was unlucky not to be on the scoresheet with her brilliant driving runs and all round positioning.
Katie and Jaime were doing a grand job in midfield supporting the attack and defence and not too much threat was going to get past the back line of Freya, Caroline, Smithy and Lu but even if it did, Vicky was there.
The start of the second half didn't go to plan with Herne Bay on the front foot and soon earned themselves a short corner, their routine was a good one and not much anyone could do to stop them scoring.
Maidstone could've wobbled at this point but kept creating and Bethan's exceptional running soon won us a short corner, again the ball was fed to Hannah and she jinked her way through defence but a bit more fancy this time and restored our 2 goal cushion.
Maidstone then sealed the win with some great play on the left from Jaime who slipped the ball to Julie to cross for Hannah, who's shot was turned in on the right post for Bethan to grab her well deserved goal.
POM went to Hannah, closely followed by Bethan, Jaime and Bea. What a great team performance.
