Ladies 3s vs Dartford

So after an "is it on, is it off" morning, Maidstone rallied and focussed on an early game away to Dartford.
Dartford sneaked in an early goal from open play, which was a through ball that made an unlucky deflection off our defence into the hands of the opposition. On the back foot, and with fire in our bellies, Maidstone relaxed into our game of short passes from Katie, through to Nikki and Hannah in the midfield, allowing a number of chances for Julie, Bethan and Ellie to take some shots on target. Dartford's goalie was exceptional and cleared all of our clear shots.
The second half, at one nil down, saw Maidstone once again going out with intent. Our attacking play earned us a short corner whereby Bethan pushed a great pass to Smithy who did her best to get past the keeper. The rebound was met with more Maidstone players and after some persistence from Ellie, came our equalizer.
Maidstone continued to threaten further goals, with great runs from Bea and Julie. Our midfield were relentless, and showed some real class, with strong passes from Nikki and Jaime to find our forwards. Dartford were equally persistent but the Maidstone defence was solid, with Olivia making some fantastic interceptions and Caroline , Lucinda and Smithy all clearing Dartford's attacking shots, not to mention Vicky making a number of great diving saves .
This was a real end to end battle and Maidstone ended the game with a well deserved draw at 1-1.
