Ladies 3 v Sevenoaks

Maidstone's fixture against Sevenoaks 7s was always going to be a tough test as they are a very strong, well organised team and Maidstone were playing with a different line up with lots of shuffling due to a variety of circumstances. Despite that, Maidstone started the strongest and took the lead after 10 minutes when Claire Daniels buried her shot low across goal to the bottom left corner.
Maidstone continued to create chances but over the next 5-10 minutes, Sevenoaks got more into their rhythm of play and found an equaliser and then took the lead. Maidstone didn't let their heads go down, working with grit and determination they found themselves an equaliser shortly before half time when a through ball from Smithy found Claire who skilfully jinked her way through the Sevenoaks defence and calmly placed the ball into the left corner of the goal.
The second half lacked a little bit of flow but was still a very even match with everyone working tirelessly and creating scoring opportunities but unfortunately just couldn't capitalise and with legs tiring in the final quarter of the match Sevenoaks took their chances to come out 4-2 winners.
An unfortunate loss but once again team effort could not be faulted with everyone working hard until the final whistle.
