Ladies 3 win..Oh yea Baby!

Match report courtesy of Julie Davies, who played through chronic back pain to start the game off and give us that attacking edge...So what can we say; The Ladies 3s probably faced their toughest test of the season so far against an organised Ashford side and the weather certainly was helping to get everyone going. Maidstone had some good chances early on but with 10 mins played, Ashford took the lead. Maidstone didn't let their heads drop and drew level when Bethan followed up a great shot from Hannah. Ashford were also playing with determination and regained the lead almost immediately, however, Maidstone were never going to let their heads drop and before half time Hannah pulled us level.
The first half had been an even well fought game but the second half from a Maidstone viewpoint was awesome, Vicky, Caroline, Smithy, Lu and the ever reliable Olivia in defence didn't allow Ashford a chance to add to their tally and the hard working midfield of Jaime, Hannah, Katie, Nikki and Bea just brilliantly kept winning the ball and driving forward creating chances for Becky, Bethan and Georgia. Maidstone then deservedly took the lead when Hannah rifled in the most amazing shot from the tightest (almost impossible) of angles. More excellent team play this time from the youngsters saw Georgia and Bethan combine really well with Bea then finding the finishing touch to put us 4-2 up to seal an impressive all round team display. POM could have gone to anyone such was the team effort but Olivia's impressive defending managed to grab the honours this week.
