Maidstone L3s vs New Beccehamians

Ladies 3s vs New Becs..having made an excellent start to the season the 3s were determined to remain unbeaten and were dominating from the first whistle and the midfield of Jaime, Katie, Nikki, Meg and Bea were producing a beautiful passing game to supply chance after chance for the forward line of Hannah, Becky and Bethan. All of whom were producing brilliant shots on target only to be denied by a string of excellent saves by the New Beccs keeper. The defence of Caroline, Smithy, Lu, Olivia and keeper Vicky were well organised and easily stopped any rare threat New Beccs offered. The breakthrough came midway through the first half when a very determined Nikki drove straight through the New Beccs defence only to be denied a goal by a defenders foot on the line so "Q" Smithy to step up and convert the penalty flick. Before the end of the 2nd half Maidstone doubled their lead when an excellent team move (started by Caroline..not so useless right now!) was superbly finished off by Bea to score a great goal (another seasons first, well done Bea x). Maidstone continued to dominate in the 2nd half with most of the team having some great efforts on goal and had it not been for the unbelievable heroics from the New Beccs keeper, we could have been 10-0 up!. Somehow, New Beccs managed to grab themselves a goal to make the final few minutes a little nervy but Maidstone very deservedly took all the points and remain unbeaten, Great Team effort but POM went to Smithy this week. Well done to our A team!!
