Debutant Grace Siddoway was working well up front with Rachel Davies whose endless running was creating chances however with around 20 minutes played Marden managed to take an opportunity to go 1-0 up. Still evenly matched Maidstone couldn’t convert any chances and Marden made it 2-0 virtually on the stroke of half time.
Maidstone continued to show great team spirit and excellent work rate and were rewarded with a penalty stroke when about to strike at goal player of the match Rachel Davies was pushed from behind. The youngster was brave enough to step up and take the stroke but unfortunately the keeper managed to step left to make the save.
Maidstone continued to battle strongly but just couldn’t deliver that final touch but once again every player worked hard for each other and surely a win will come soon.
