Probably Maidstone’s best performance this season saw them beat local rivals KSports (Cobdown) away from home 5-1.
Early pressure saw Maidstone go ahead early on through Josh Lake, only for a lapse in concentration to allow the home side to equalise soon afterwards. A penalty stroke converted by Andy Parkes restored the lead midway through the first half.
Maidstone had to wait until the second half to increase their lead. Gradually their superior possession and positive running resulted in Ian Lowe scoring. Andy Parkes scored from a short corner for his second and gave breathing space at 4-1 as the home side were always likely to cause problems with breakaways. With ten minutes to go Ash Messenger settled matters scoring Maidstone’s 5th
