3s v Anchorians
So after last weeks loss Maidstone were extremely keen and fired up to be victorious this week and dominated from the first whistle. The defence of Caroline, Smithy, Sally and Maddy were very organised pushing slightly higher up the pitch allowing the mid line of Jaime, Katie and Nikki to be dominant in possession spreading play around and producing some excellent passes for forwards Bella and Robyn to attack. However Maidstone suffered a slight blow in the opening 10 minutes when Maddy was forced off injured but captain Lu with impressive coming on at Left back. Maidstone then made the pressure count when Bella made a pass to Robyn who hit a great cross to Nikki coming in on the left to put us in front. Thea lead was soon doubled when Robyn again turned provider to pull the ball back on the backline at a perfect angle for Smithy to place the ball past the keeper.
Vic then made an excellent save to keep the score line comfortable before Sally made it 3 with a good solo run in the centre and hitting a strong shot from the top of the D.
For the second half Maidstone had to adjust somewhat being without any subs forcing Bella and Jaime to soldier on with injuries and with Anchorians coming out strong in the second half they soon pulled a goal back. Maidstone could of crumbled and with no subs were tiring slightly but we continued to work hard as a team and with 5-10 minutes Bella eased the fatigue by adding the fourth with a brilliant strike from the edge of the D.
Final score 4-1
