Old wills 2- Maidstone ladies 2s 1

Maidstone had to reshuffle the formation for this game due to a number of injuries within the squad but started the game brightly. Moving the ball around with ease right through the team Maidstone forced old wills to concede several short corners and although captain Amanda Gates, Pom Jen Duggan and forward Vic O’Reilly all came close Maidstone just couldn’t quite convert these into goals.
However the deadlock was soon broken when Jen Duggan played a superb through ball into the path of Vic O’Reilly to just divert the ball into goal, 1-0 Maidstone.
Maidstone continued to press well with some great combinations all around youngsters Rachel Davies, Rebecca Jarvis and Gracie Wilsher all working well down the left, Lizzie Hutchinson and Lucinda de Gray on the right and Jen Duggan Larissa Keyte and Amanda Gates dominant in the centre but Maidstone just couldn’t find that second goal.
In the second half old wills began to get a grip on the game. Unfortunately playing with some injuries and no subs Maidstone had to defend more and more and conceded 2 goals to some very well drilled short corner routines from old wills and one again unlucky to be on the losing side going down 2-1 at full time.
