Maidstone men's 4s

A great game . Maidstone dominated from the start with some good pressure to gain possession and dominating midfield with telling passing moves, great forward thinking to intercept the ball when Sevenoaks had it. Some brilliant pressure from Scott (junior) led him to take the ball, sidestep the defend and look up to see Charlie (junior) and lay the ball behind the next defender for him to be through on goal,Charlie rounded the next defender and was in on goal, his shot was pushed onto the post only for Ash Messenger to slot home the rebound.1-0 Maidstone.
The dominance from Maidstone continuing up to half time but we were not able to to convert any of the chances we managed to create.

2nd half saw Sevenoaks change formation to try and reduce mail's dominance in midfield which they managed. This led to 20 minutes of exciting end to end play with both sides playing well. Maidstone's midfield faded slightly allowing Sevenoaks to pressure our defence only for Ed Garrett, Rich King and especially Alastair Allsworth to thwart their attempts to shoot. The last 15 minutes saw an increase in attacking play that led to sevenoaks breaching the defence only to come up against Steve Grout, our keeper, a series of shots in quick succession and Steve is down and up to block all of them finally pushing the ball passed the post. A few minutes later and Sevrnoaks breach the defence again and a great shot from the edge of the D looks to be going into the top corner, Steve dives full stretch to the right and tips the ball over the bar with his stick. Fabulous save, 10 man of the match votes show what a great game he had.
