Mens 4s v Gravesham and Wellcome 4

Maidstone started the game really well. Dominating the midfield and driving at the Gravesham defence with passing moves down both wings providing opportunities, finally another excellent move starting from an interception by captain on the day ,Rich King, fed out to the left for debutant Luke (junior player) to run free down the wing laying off a ball inside to Fraser (junior player) and on to Charlie (junior player) to slot away for the opening goal.

The opposition were under pressure but managed to level the score with a move from the two players who seemed to head up the team with one of them picking up the ball in their own half and running though the Maidstone midfield before launching a pass for the other to drive home whilst running across the D.

They then went on to pass their way through Maidstones defence for a second goal.

After half time Maidstone came out with renewed vigour and confidence dominating again. Another team goal starting from the back with good passing through midfield ending up with Charlie slotting away again.

Gravesham them pressed on, led again by the two dominant players they had, earned a short corner that was put away.

Unfortunately despite Maidstone pushing on and again dominating, we were unable to breach the defence and so we end the first half of the season disappointed with the result.
The whole season we seem to be playing the best hockey but just can't seem to get the wins we deserve.
