Men's 4s v K Sports 3s

On a very cold and unwelcoming late morning we all rock up secretly hoping for the pitch to be to frosty to play, but alas it has thawed enough to be playable. Both teams have a bit of a cagey start with very little play making it beyond the defences despite some good midfield play from each side. Maidstone,defending high up the pitch, were almost undone with K-Sports leaving a player in our 23 luckily the Maidstone keeper,Steve Grout was equal to the advance and made an impressive save to stop the shot. A spell of pressure from Maidstones midfield led to a short corner which was impressively saved by the K-Sports keeper. 0-0 at half time.
Renewed bigot saw both sides producing some great moves throughout the teams creating some exiting end to end action with chances on both ends of the pitch, generally being thwarted by the two very impressive keepers. K-Sports midfield broke in the last 15 minutes and had a great chance which Steve managed to block again, coming out towards the centre of the D for our central defensive midfielder to sweep away on the reverse to one of our attackers creating a chance 3 on 1, unfortunately the other goalkeeper was having as good a game as Steve. Five minutes from time we earned a long corner which was taken by Ash Messenger, driving forward the defence seemed to back off allowing him into the D and with an excellent shot on the reverse heading straight for the top corner it looked like Maidstone were going to steal the game, unfortunately their keeper was on good form as well. Full time 0-0 but a really strong performance yet again for our junior development team.
