Brilliant

Maidstone got off to quite a bad start as a very soft goal crawled over the line much to the surprise of both teams, especially Herne bay. There then followed a period of good play with great attacking and defensive moves on both sides. Fortunately great counter attacking plays from Maidstone led to two good goals in quick succession, with Maidstone starting to dominate play and running midfield the half time whistle was probably music to Herne bay ears. After the break Herne bay rallied and started to fight back, Maidstone were unable to dominate midfield due to a line up change with the opposition change from 4 to 3 at the back giving them another man to stop Maidstone dominating midfield. They used this to good advantage and with a hard fought push earned a short corner which they put away well to level the score. Maidstone then broke from a goal line clearance out to the right which was controlled and quickly passed up the line for the attacker to draw the last defender and goalie out only to pass it square for our other attacking forward to slot home into an open goal for a well deserved winner. Another great performance from a mostly junior team who are shaping up to be a formidable opponent to anyone.
