Mens 4s v New Beccehamian

This week our Junior Development Team faced a hard hitting group of adult players with no Juniors in their team!
They all performed well as a team, which is what we have come to expect. A slight loss of concentration led to a sloppy goal from the opposition but Maidstone upped the tempo and put together some great passing moves to regain dominance on the pitch, unfortunately they couldn't trouble the defence enough to break through and a well worked counter attack led to a short corner which was executed brilliantly made it 0:2 at the break.
The second half saw a more determined Maidstone with some great passing moves and individual advances leading to some positive attacking play which needed some great defending to thwart. There was a very good bit of closing down on a 16 from Charlie which put him 1 on 1 with the goalie, keeping his composure enough to wait for the goalie to go down he lifted the ball over him only for it to continue agonisingly close but over the bar as well. Another hard and fast break from our defence led to a short corner which was out away by our winger Steve Davis who has returned to the club this season, now his children are playing in the young teams he is showing them the way with another really good performance. Unfortunately, although we pushed and had much of the possession, we were unable to put the ball away again so it was a 1:2 defeat but another excellent performance from the boys.
