Unfortunately Maidstone had to start the game a player down and quickly conceded a goal from a short corner. With a numerical advantage blackheath had more possession but couldn’t make it count largely due to some excellent defensive work from Maidstone and especially Pom Carly Brinn.
Once upto full strength Maidstone began to apply some pressure of their own and with the defence switching the ball effortlessly from left to right the midfield began to push higher up the pitch allowing the forwards to attack the goal and force blackheath to concede several short corners, however Maidstone couldn’t convert any of these into a goal.
At the start of the second half injury forced Maidstone to re gig the team slightly and had the vast majority of possession throughout the remainder of the game and again won short corner upon short corner and came agonisingly close with VIc O’reilly hitting the post but unfortunately were unable to convert any chances and undeservedly lost the match 1-0
