Maidstone Ladies 3’s put up a good game with plenty of attacking play throughout. Unfortunately, Kings Alleyns maintained a good defensive line and held Maidstone off, retrieving a loose ball 5 minutes before half time to put themselves 0-1 up at the break.
Maidstone put up a fight during the second half and the breakthrough came through Sarah Day winning a short corner after a quick turn in the D. Unfortunately, the shot was deflected by Kings Alleyns and Maidstone remained 0-1 down. Maidstone we were awarded a penalty stroke which Madeleine Jarvis stepped up and converted, bringing the score level at 1-1. Unfortunately for Maidstone, a Kings Alleyns break through resulted in a short corner towards the latter part of the match, which they converted to secure their second goal and the match at 1-2. It was a frustrating game for Maidstone Ladies 3’s but the team put in plenty of effort with Madeleine Jarvis receiving a well deserved Player of the Match.
