Another solid performance from the ladies 1s

Maidstone went into the game against Chelmsford looking for their 3rd win in as many games. A strong run by Lizzie McClintock, taking her passed a couple of players, and remaining in control after a harsh deflection off a defenders stick, enabled her to put the ball into the bottom right corner, putting the home side 1-0 up.
Against the run of play, Maidstone were lucky not to concede shortly after, thanks to a goal line clearance by striker Claire Weddle. However, Maidstone continued their dominance of the game, and were unlucky not to add to their score line after being rewarded by a number of penalty corners before the break.
Going into the second half, Maidstone showed their strength in midfield, with Louise Cassey, and Player of the Match Louise Fox continually winning the ball back for the home side, and pushing the play back into the Chelmsford half. After successfully intercepting the ball, left midfielder Laura Jackson was able to drive towards the oppositions goal, and was able to find Lesley Price at the back post, to make the score 2-0 to Maidstone.

With attacking midfielder Rachael Davies making her debut for the 1st team in the 2nd half, Maidstone were able to maintain the speed and determination they showed in the first half, with Claire Weddle deflecting the ball into the oppositions goal from a Lizzie McClintock shot, making the score 3-0 to Maidstone.
Minutes before the final whistle, Chelmsford were able to capitalise on a loose ball in the Maidstone half, to slot passed the Maidstone keeper to narrow the gap to 3-1.
