Player of the match Wendy Emery back from retirement

Bottom of the league Maidstone Ladies 4’s had a blustery battle with 2nd place Folkestone 4’s in a game that looked much more even than the league positions suggested. Maidstone welcomed Wendy Emery out of retirement to help out at the back and it was as if she had never put her stick away. At half time Maidstone reflected on their chance to make something of this close battle but unfortunately then let down their guard in the first minutes of the second half and Folkestone snuck ahead. It was end to end all game and finally Nicky Coomansingh’s relentless attacking drives were rewarded with an equaliser. A goal line kerfuffle almost led to a winner in the last few minutes, but a delighted Maidstone (and their stalwart travelling supporters) settled for a draw and their first point in 19 games.

Wendy Emery was solid with timely tackles in defence to earn Player of the match.
Again a solid whole team performance showing just how far the development side has come.
