FUNDRAISING

The Club is always looking at ways to raise additional funding to support the running costs. The recent projects were:

 Maidstone Half Marathon

The Club has been invited to supply 50 marshalls for Sunday 21 October, for which it will receive a donation from the half marathon organisers - Maidstone Harriers. This is a good, and fun, way to raise money for the club - and it supports a town sporting activity.

The event progressed as planned, many club members were involved, and we received widespread praise for the marshalling.

Our thanks to Maidstone Harriers for a donation of £2,000, which was presented to Roger Daniels by their Chairman, David Hattersley, on Wednesday 19th December.

 Club Sponsored Walk

On Sunday 18 November members of the club, supporters and friends are invited to take part in a 10 mile sponsored walk around the Loose Valley. All the proceeds will be split between the Club and the local Five Acre Wood School, which supports children with disabilities and learning difficulties.   The walk starts (9qm) & finishes at the clubhouse. At the end of the walk there will be soup and rolls and other hot goodies. The bar will be open too. No doubt some budding entrepreneur will be on hand offering foot baths and massage!

All walkers must register as soon as possible with one of the gang below, and sponsor forms are behind the bar.

If you cannot, or will not walk, there are still lots of support jobs to be done - so please volunteer.
