MHC - Club of the Year
The club has received the accolade of being declared the Maidstone Club of the Year 2012. At the prestigious Maidstone 'Youth Sport Achievements Awards' ceremony on Friday 25th January the Club was nominated along with Kimura Shukokai Karate, Pegasus Gymnastics, and Vinters Football Clubs. The award is supported by the Kent Playing Fields Association and its chairman, Robert Horner, presented the award along with the Mayor, Rodd Nelson-Gracie. Congratulations to all members and supporters for their efforts in helping us win this award. There is a returnable shield and a glass award. They will be in the trophy cabinet in the clubhouse soon.
We are also delighted to report that Jimmy Christmas was one of 10 individuals to receive a grant of £100 for his coaching efforts with the juniors, courtesy of the Rotary Club of the Weald of Kent and the Jeremy Willson Charitable Trust. Well done to him; the money will go towards junior kit.
The Maidstone YSAAs recognise local individuals, teams and clubs for their achievements in 2012. The ceremony was also attended by Hugh Robertson Minister of Sport, and John A Wilson Maidstone Cabinet Member for Community and Leisure Services.
