Maidstone HC Hosts the 'big dribble'

The Nationwide ‘Big Dribble’ hockey fun event is coming to Maidstone Hockey Club on SATURDAY 28th APRIL (9.30am to 11.00am).

England Hockey Board and its sponsor npower will be promoting hockey in the run up to the Olympics.  The road show is travelling from Edinburgh to London over 18 days, stopping at 40 different locations, starting on the 15th April. It ends in Trafalgar Square on the 2nd May. Maidstone is only one of three in Kent – the others are Sevenoaks and Canterbury.

At each location the organisers will erect a hockey dribbling course up to 100 metres long and ask everyone to do that distance (hockey sticks and balls will be provided). It’s open to everybody, no matter your age or knowledge of hockey.  The aim is to set a record for dribbling hockey balls 2012 kilometres right across Great Britain.

In addition to the course there will be :- GB hockey stars, celebrities, a giant hockey ball to sign (to wish the GB teams good luck), a chance to win an electronic scooter, and an opportunity to have fun. Plus, test your sporting skills in the Cage Goal Scoring Challenge and Giant Hockey Skittles.  People participating will receive a certificate and their photograph will appear in the npower Big Dribble gallery.  More details, map and locations where the BD is currently happening are on the web site –

There will also be a chance to win two tickets to an Olympic hockey match, courtesy of the Club
