NEW PITCH

The Club's all-weather pitch was refurbished during the Summer 2007. It now has a new surface, improved fencing, and a spectator area on the western side. The Photo diary of works is set out below.

The pitch is very heavily used by clubs, schools and community groups.  If you are interested in hiring it, please contact:

End of Week 1 - 20 July. Old carpet being removed. Most of old fencing gone. New Spectator area being laid out on the Western side

24 July. Old carpet now removed, to reveal a shockpad in need of complete replacement. New path being created. The new entrance to the pitch will be through the Spectator area on the Western side.

6 August. The new carpet is being laid - note the new terracotta edging. We have Llewellyn Bowen-Daniels to thank for this aesthetic feature (his other claim to fame is the red corner in the clubhouse, and soon he could be wallpapering a house near you. You have been warned!).

End of Week 4 - 10 August. New carpet laid and lines marked. Fencing posts around the new spectator area - note the spectator rail

End of Week 5 - 17 August. Carpet now sanded, and all fence posts in place. Spectator area and new path have been tarmaced. All that remains now is for the fencing itself to be fixed.

End of Week 6 - 24 August. Job done!

It's excellent to report that the works were completed 1 week ahead of schedule, which meant that club members were able to get an additional week of training on the new surface.
