Maidstone Mens 2s
Old Williamsonians 2
|Date||Saturday 17th November|
Maidstone Mens 2s came away from mid-table Old Willy’s with a point, as both teams failed to break the deadlock resulting in a 0-0 draw. Jeff Dummett had a short corner strike well saved by the keeper low down to left post, and Tom Starling narrowly missed out on increasing his seasons tally with a few early breaks. In response, Old Williamsonian’s had a handful of penalty corners, which were expertly dealt with again by the solid Maidstone defence. Mike Smith earned man-of-match, thanks to a robust performance in which he dealt with the occasional Old Willy’s circle penetration with composure.
Maidstone could perhaps come away the happier of the two teams, having taken a point on the road from a mid-table team. However, there was definite room for improvement and the need to inject some fire into the players from the first whistle.
