Maidstone Mens 3s
Tunbridge Wells 3
|Date||Saturday 20th October|
|Scorers||Richard Chilcott (2), own goal|
A spirited Maidstone Men’s 3rd XI managed to secure their first point of the season after coming from behind three times against a well organised Tunbridge Wells side.
Maidstone were the more attacking side throughout the game but struggled to find the back of the net early on, whereas Tunbridge Wells successfully managed to score a brace of goals. Some strong goal-keeping from man of the match Nick Cornford and two well taken opportunities from Richard Chilcott ensured that the sides were level at half time.
Maidstone came out positively in the second half but conceded a goal against the run of play. The home side continued to push with senior team members Chris Brinn and Mark Bourne controlling the midfield and Oliver Priestley pushing forward from defence. The hard work paid off as Maidstone were rewarded with a goal that came off a Tunbridge Wells player after some pinball action in the away sides area to make the final score 3-3.
