Maidstone played their last friendly before the league starts next week, away at BBHC. Maidstone started the stronger team, but we're unfortunate to go a goal down after a breakaway from the home team, caught the defence too far up the pitch. New boys Daniel Adesanya, John Neary, and Josh Littler soon got to grips with the positional requirements of the team, and this made the difference in the second half. A fine individual run from James Goodbody after a great tackle from Daniel Adesanya was rewarded with Maidstone's first penalty corner, which was converted with a well placed shot from Zach Stiff. Maidstone continued to attach and Alex Harwood's goal bound shot was stopped with a foot, but the resulting penalty flick was well saved, by the BBHC keeper. A save that was bettered by Maidstone's debutant keeper George Smyth when a close range shot looked to have given the home side a last minute winner, but for an outstretched hand that diverted the shot just past the post. A save worthy of a man of the match performance.
