Maidstone Mens 5s
|Date||Saturday 25th February|
|Scorers||Andy Parkes, Tim Chambers, Thompson, Nigel Swaffer, Mark Weller|
Maidstone were determined to avenge their home defeat from the first half of the season, but it was Cobdown that had most of the play for the first 15 minutes, before Parkes converted a short corner following a brake away against the run of play. Despite numerous other chances by Maidstone the score remained 1-0 at half time. The game remained competitive until Chambers slotted home the second after 10 minutes in the second half, then at regular interviews the lead was stretched to 4-0 with futher goals from Thompson, and Weller – both pouncing onto balls on the left post. Cobdown however kept pushing forward and were rewarded for their endevours but with a rather soft goal. The lead was soon increased with strikes from Swaffer from the centre, and Weller again on the left, but Cobdown had the last, albeit consulate, gaol near the final whistle.
