Goals, Goals, Goals
Maidstone started against 10 man Slough knowing what to expect after dishing out a 7-0 thrashing away. In the unseasonal heat they started slowly knowing that patience would see the goals come and it was 10 minutes before Maidstone were able to break the deadlock. With patience turning to lethargy Maidstone struggled to create the gaps needed to score with the frequency they wanted and though a few chances went begging Maidstone went into half time only 4-0 up.
After the break Maidstone came out with renewed urgency and energy and compounded the hapless Slough who played the entire second half with just 9 players due to an injury. Though the Slough goalkeeper made some terrific saves Maidstone were relentless and fired in 10 goals in the second half to inflict on Slough their worst defeat of the season at 14-0. The goals were shared round the Maidstone team with 9 different players getting on the score sheet. Chris Brinn was awarded man of the match for showing his years of experience and driving up the Maidstone tempo.
