Eight Wins From Eight

Maidstone ladies 2s travelled to Sevenoaks for the second time this season with the aim of making it eight wins from eight. Despite the difference in league standings Maidstone knew it would be a tough game and the opening exchanges were cautious from both sides. Neither could manufacture a goal but it was Maidstone who had the better of the half but they failed to convert their open play chances. In contrast Sevenoaks were limited to a stretch of short corners which were barely kept out - Lauren Neve standing out for the visitors.

In the second half Maidstone upped their game but were surprised to find themselves a goal down when a Sevenoaks shot took two deflections on its way past the Sarah Ward in the Maidstone goal. Maidstone responded marvelously and were sooner back on level terms when captain Sue Leaning smashed a shot into the far corner. Maidstone went from strength to strength and despite having 2 goals not given were soon in front from a good team goal. After Ward made a good save to keep Maidstone ahead Brogan Cummins sealed the win after she converted from a superb piece of skill from Donna Shalders. Maidstone finished the game 3-1 winners.
