Impressive Win

Maidstone started brightly and soon forced a short corner which was expertly dispatched by Sue Smith. Maidstone continued to create chances but it was Old Bordenians who scored next, equalising with some good play down the right channel. However Maidstone upped their game and some superb runs from forwards Brogan Cummins and player of the match Emma Waters created the space for them to penetrate the Bordenians D and win another short corner. Again this was executed by Sue Smith once again propelling Maidstone into the lead.

Maidstone continued to work hard in the second half and extended their lead through a third short corner, this time the rebound was finished by Captain Sue Leaning. Despite Bordenians claiming a second the gaps were beginning to open up and Maidstone took full advantage with some composed play and good pass and move hockey. They relentlessly opened up the away side's defence and put the game to bed with fine finishes from Maddy Jarvis and a second from Leaning. With the game all but wrapped up the superb Cummins intercepted an errant sixteen yard pass and calmly finished passed the keeper to take the final score to 6-2 in favour of the impressive home side.
