Our Clubhouse
The club has spent over half of its 130 year existence located at South Park. The original clubhouse was built in the mid 1960s and saw, over the following decades, numerous extensions as the Club expanded. So for 40 years it has witnessed many changes (mostly positive), wonderful celebrations and fantastic functions. But it started creaking......and leaking.....so.....
In 2006 the club committed itself to a new purpose-built £600,000 Clubhouse, on the same site in South Park. It was opened in 2006 by Ann Widdecombe, the then local MP. It's a fantastic facility, a credit to the sport, and important to the town.
The Playing side has four changing rooms - two for ladies and two for men - plus showers and toilets. There is a separate players' entrance/exit.
The Clubhouse has a fully equipped bar and kitchen, disabled toilets, low bar servery, power-point projector and screen, sound system, computer plug in facilities, a television and a dart board. It can accommodate 150 people. At the back of the bar there is the "vice presidents" lounge. Part of the main hall, it is painted red and has photographs - new and old - on the walls.
There is excellent off-street parking in the adjacent free public car park. It is used by lots of clubs, groups and authorities in our community.
It is available for hire - for conferences, seminars, meetings; and for parties, dances and dinners.
